The word ‘weekend’ means different things to different people. To me it means ‘loafing’ i.e. just lying around doing absolutely nothing. I am a world class Loafer. My Mom is of the opinion that if loafing was an Olympic sport, I would have consistently won the gold medal for India.
Please don’t take my words lightly, loafing is serious business. It needs complete dedication. Only a complete lazybones can qualify for the tag of Loafer. There are so many difficulties and temptations in the path of a true Loafer – the household chores that stare angrily at you, the Mom who wants you to learn how to cook a new dish, the heartless friend who wants to go shopping on a Sunday, the tempting new movie that’s released in the nearby multiplex – it takes nerves of steel to ignore all these and not stray from the path of true mooching.
But if you are able to overcome all these nuisances…..ahh, you attain Nirvana! You rise above the petty problems of everyday life. You are your own master for a full day. You can just lie in bed watching TV (but not watching any single program), or surf internet for hours, or read a nice book, or just sleep the whole day – its you and only you.
For me, just one Loafing Day a week is enough to recharge my inner batteries and give me the strength to go through the hectic and tiring working days. No work pressures, no responsibilities, no nothing but main aur meri loafergiri……
Trust me friends, nothing beats stress like loafing. So if you have never tried loafing, do give it a try once. And those who are true loafers like me - Loaf On!
