As I entered the house, I could observe that something was wrong. The cibca smiling faces, the glow in the eyes and laughter was absolutely missing. As I greeted, and enquired what had happened, the stink of panmasala was making me keep a distance.
I noticed that that they were arranging for separate plate and bedding. I really thought that someone might be suffering from epidemic diseases. As I started drilling down, they narrated that the doctor has suggested that the guy has been infected by Tuberculosis. But the infected person was looking dull, but smiling saying nothing has happened. He was mentioning that he does not have any symptom of Tuberculosis; however nobody was ready to listen to him. The reason was the medical diagnosis reported that he was been infected. The doctor has prescribed the medication and he to purchase the medicines and thought from next day he would start the medications.
Thanks to his luck, in the evening an senior medical nurse came to visit. She also noticed what I had observed in the family. Then she enquired about the symptoms and she suggested that the symptoms were totally different. She suggested taking a second opinion with the doctor.
The next day, the gentle men went to meet the other doctor. However the nurse accompanied him and showed him the report. The required tests were conducted and the test results were negative. In the evening, surprisingly they called to share the news of All is Well.
Bottom-line:
Today all your hard earned money can be gets exhausted, once a person is admitted in hospital. Today doctors rely on the reports and test rather than understanding and analysing the symptoms. . Many a times we find doctors, who are mostly interested in writing prescriptions rather than given an peaceful hearing. In most cases the doctor knows your face, but not your pain or sufferings.
This leaves the thought on if corporate hospitals are like this, what about the Government hospitals, where doctor is next to God.
