A year of love, friendship and creative satisfaction

By: jmathur | Posted Dec 04, 2010 | General | 1376 Views | (Updated Jan 03, 2011 04:22 PM)

I joined MS by default on 5th December, 2009 and now one full year has completed. During this one year, enough water has flown in the river and I am no longer the same as I was one year back. I have a lot of virtual (and real too) friends and alongwith creative satisfaction, I have received abundant love through this site.

Being a movie buff, I always fumed over the biased movie reviews of the well-known reviewers and several times, a thought used to occur to my mind that I could write much better and impartial reviews than them. While searching reviews of some old movies, I unintentionally hit upon MS on the fateful day of 5th December, 2009 and after registering myself as a member, kept on reading others' reviews for two months.

Finally, on 3rd February, 2010; I decided to write my first review on MS which was of an old movie - Kati Patang. Neither it was rated, not it was commented upon for a long time. My second review of Ghulam-E-Mustafa met the same fate. However I did not lose heart and wrote my third review which was of an old B&W classic movie - Khamoshi and it received the first comment from an esteemed and seasoned reviewer of MS - Aruna T. (moviezombie). That comment gave me a great deal of delight which I relished just like a child, getting his favourite toy. I got my second comment on the same review from Thomas D (tom3357). However I got noticed by seasoned MS members when I wrote reviews of two current movies - My Name is Khan and 3 Idiots. Since then, there has not been any looking back.

Till now I have written 103 reviews and this is my seventeenth DP (not fourteenth as wrongly displayed with my profile picture by the faulty MS mechanism). I have got a lot of appreciation which is a very big thing for me because I have had my formal education in Hindi medium and I had written articles, stories and plays in Hindi but nothing mentionable in English prior to joining MS. The love and appreciation of my friends and well-wishers is much more valuable for me than the star status bestowed upon me on 16th September, 2010.

I have learnt a lot from seasoned MS writers viz. Aruna T. (moviezombie), angel_babe55, Thomas sir (tom3357), deepak27, Mazhar Bhai (maaz_nawaz), GEETA1963, Shalu D, Ratnakar Ji (indian1969), Paulsb02, Nishant (sydbarett), Virat, Sajit sir (hermit), Hemani Ji (jains24) etc.

In addition to them, I am also grateful by heart to Fenil, JAMS (JaveedAhmedM), Ketan (bobby007), chalojai, Sayanti Das, Pooja Paliwal, Khalid Bhai (bkaks), Sujata (Faerie), Sandeep Kumar, Sandeep400, Rajesh Sharma (Raj_onlyone), Pranay, Avishek Gupta, Bikash, Suketu, Karan (eager2xpress), Nasir (eagleeyes), Ajeet Ji, Swamiji (aaryesdee), Shashikumar Menon Saheb (iamindiamenon), Umesh Ji (derebail), Prashant (bebylon), Ruchir, Sam (confusedsoul), Simple Ji (MirandaViola), Lalit (blidebej), Meghana, Deepa, Deepthi, Ajay_1977, Vaishali, O.P. Varma Ji, Sidz, Suraj, Rajesh Sinha, s_rajesh, Saurabh (dsaumis), Vikky (Soldier_of_Fortune), Aniruddh (see_ani), Cyril (cyrax), Cattie, Vijay, Siddharth (Ciddharth), S.R. Nair Saheb etc. Without their relentless support, I would not have been able to maintain my morale so high throughout.

I am an emotional person and give utmost importance to relationships. I want to remain a learner throughout my life because that's the only way to continuous improvement. I firmly believe that none (and nothing) is perfect and even the best can be improved.

While offering tons of thanks to MS for providing me such a platform which has changed my life, I end this post with a very old song (from the movie - Ghaban) :

Ehsaan Mere Dil Pe Tumhaara Hai Dosto

Ye Dil Tumhaare Pyar Ka Maara Hai Dosto
