A meeting with Virat

I came to know from FB communication in December 2011 that esteeemed MS member, Virat Nehru ( @viratbond ) was coming from Australia to India 28.01.2012 and would stay at Gurgaon (near Delhi). Fortunately, I was also expected to attend a marriage (of my maternal cousin) at Delhi on 28.01.2012 only. I communicated it to Virat and hoped to meet him on 29.01.2012 before leaving Delhi.

Presently working at Hyderabad, I had to visit Jaipur, Delhi and Kota during my 9-10 days long vacation to attend some marriages and meet old buddies. It was a tight schedule amidst which this Delhi trip of myself had to be a very very brief one. Just a flying visit. I had to rush to Delhi from Jaipur after attending a marriage at Jaipur (on 27.01.2012), attend the marriage at Delhi in the evening of 28.01.2012 and take the train to Kota on 29.01.2012 noon itself. Virat confirmed through telephonic talks that he would be coming as per schedule and would give me his local mobile phone number. I arrived at Delhi in the evening, stayed at the residence of an old colleague (during my employment with the Jaypee Group at Delhi) at Pochanpalli (a village on the outskirt of Delhi), attended the marriage at night at Dwarka, Sector 12 and had a telephonic talk with Virat at night.

Next morning, I reached Gurgaon at Virat's place with my suitcase itself through bus and thereafter autorickshaw. Courtesy the ignorant autorichshaw driver, I could reach him at around 10.45 a.m. only. I told him that I have to catch my train for Kota at 01.45 p.m. from New Delhi Railway Station and requested him to accompany me to see me off so that we get time to talk during the journey as well as at the station. Already awaiting me outside his residence, Virat agreed for it and after we had tea at his granny's home, we started for the station through Metro Rail Service.

During some one hour long journey in the Metro Rail as well as for more than one hour period while waiting for the train at the station, we talked a lot. Virat is very smart and handsome and he's the youngest MSian I have met till now. We have had differences of opinion during electronic communication on MS but in this face-to-face meeting, I found that our views are not so different and there is a lot common between us. A lot of topics were covered during the conversation and he told me that I was different from what I appeared through my writings on MS. It's his observation. He is 19 and I am 42 but we can make good friends seeing our approach towards life, our aptiMr_Customers and our common interests.

I really appreciate his taking the pain of coming all over with me to the railway station. I arranged his telephonic talk with Geeta Ji ( @GEETA1963 ) and Deepak Ji ( @deepak27 ). I also gave him the phone number of Khaled Bhai ( @bkaks ). Khaled Bhai is unhappy with me because I did not contact him upon visiting Delhi. It happened because of the visit being a very brief one and I hope, he will forgive me for that.

Meeting Virat was a very good experience and I got his telephone call after returning to Hyderabad also. He is in India by 21.02.2012 and whosoever MSian meets him, will endorse my view that he's a wonderful person.
