Jealousy

One of the most hated qualities but present more often with us all. There are common form of jealousies. When someone scores more in exams than the others, the one with less marks gets jealous. The same attitude if not checked is carried forward in the later stages and the marks is replaced by salary package. A mother gets jealous of the newly wed daughter-in-law when the latter receives more importance from her husband. We come across these kinds of jealousies every day. However, one form of jealousy still makes me smile.

Once, my husband's college friend dropped by to our house. He turned out to be a very co-operative and friendly person, and we became friends. But in his conversations, he would claim to know or share a thought with us about my husband's qualities or something he might have told him then (obviously I was not studying in their college so I did not know anything but was rather enlightened about it during the conversation with this person.) I slowly started noticing one thing- the more wide-eyed I got, the more he would tell his adventures enjoying every moment of it. Occasionally, if I corrected him, he will get slightly irritated and say "he has changed after marriage". It took a while for me to understand that he was the closest pal to my better half then and later on after marriage, things changed a bit. Although people take it as a part of their lives - somehow this person was unable to appreciate small changes in life and trying to hide his jealousy of me entering the picture of close friends. Moreover, they were meeting after a gap of 5-6 years (around this time I came to know about my husband), so he felt that he missed the party and my better half has kinda ignored him. It felt very weird. Do guys really go through such feelings? Do they really feel jealous because wife gets closer to their friend in course of time? Jealousy is more popular with women than men. And this kind of jealousy is a rare thing.

But that did not irk me, after all, for him, my husband is and will always remain the best buddy.
