I P L 3 signs of FLOPPING ?

By: derebail2008 | Posted Feb 16, 2010 | Cricket League | 458 Views | (Updated Feb 16, 2010 10:54 AM)

All signals point to IPL3 heading for a flop, you may wonder how can I assume such a possibility. The logic for my conclusion is clearly dictated by the prevailing circumstances.

A Looming terror threat with the commencement of bomb blast at German Bakery

B Absence of Pakistani players, and possible boycott of Aussie players due to

Shiv Sena Threat of boycott.

C Escalating ticket prices for the matches, naturally curbing the demand from paying

public and cricket enthusiasts.

D Signs of extreme summer will attract lesser crowd and power cuts will play havoc

with TRP

E Previous champions Deccan chargers planning to file a suit against organisers for

withdrawl of games in Hyderabad.

However things are not so gloomy with some plus coming their way in the form of

Live telecast of matches in theatres by UTV without advertisements, sounds strange but will definitely pull some crowd to watch the match in affordable environs.

Telecast of the matches on Youtube, which may be not be so pleasing because of

buffering and deffered live format.

Robust franchisee promotions and possible change of owners and more players will bring in some much needed excitement.

Anyways we wait and watch whether this time around willow will do all the talking like the last time around or will it be left to controversies to pull up the game. I would like personally for the IPL3 to be played in UK which might add glamour to the game. This would ward off all the controversies regarding selection of players from Pakistan and Australia.

Off the record : My bet is on Kolkatta Knight Ryders to win the tournament this time around. I can already see SRK jumping in the city of Joy.
